Agenda for S1 - Digitalizing Supply Chain

General introduction - First one round to present ourselves, then we will do a second round to cover all shared challenges

Participants:

Moderator: Inez Valinder, head of production at Horizon Renewables

Isabella Martinez, Operations Manager at Vertex Wind Energy.

Ethan Smith, Reliability engineer at AeroPower Generation

Theresa Ljungberg, Procurement at WhiteRock

Terry Swan, Supply Chain Manager at Alp Energy

Pat Lewis, Logistic Manager at Western Energy

Per Carlsson, Asset Manager at Sierra Renewables

Participants & Challenges

Participant: Isabella Martinez, Operations Manager at Vertex Wind Energy.

Top Challenge: Vendor Management and Integration

Coordinating and integrating multiple vendors and their systems into a cohesive digital supply chain framework can be challenging, especially when dealing with international suppliers and various software platforms. We have found an OK solution but I am interested in how others have solved this.

Participant: Ethan Smith, Reliability engineer at AeroPower Generation

Top Challenge: Supply Chain Visibility

Achieving end-to-end visibility in the supply chain is crucial for proactive management and decision-making. However, ensuring transparency at every stage, from manufacturing to installation, is a complex task. If it is done correctly, I believe it will create a feeling of ownership for all. We are half way through and we have both security issues and some information that are misplaced. Happy to share!

Participant: Theresa Ljungberg, Procurement at WhiteRock

Top Challenge: How to integrate Legacy Systems

Many wind asset owners face the difficulty of integrating existing legacy systems with new digital supply chain solutions, hindering seamless data exchange and real-time visibility across operations. We feel that our older systems are creating issues. We have built our own solutions but I would love to know if others have found more smooth solutions

Participant: Terry Swan, Supply Chain Manager at Alp Energy

Top Challenge: Overcoming Spare Parts Numbering Issues to Digitalize the Supply Chain

Our efforts on digitalizing our supply chain is being halted by the fact that the OEMs are scrambling their spare parts numbers. We would prefer a solution where we would use the component manufacturers spare part numbers i.e. their master data. This is difficult to obtain and we have so far mapped two models in our fleet. Any one else who has chosen this path?

Participant: Pat Lewis, Logistic Manager at Western Energy

Top Challenge: Preparing for Digital Supply Chain Disruptions: Plans for Failures and Cyber-Attacks

How do you prepare for disruptions in a digitalized supply chain, developing practical contingency plans for issues like system failures or cyber-attacks to ensure business continuity?

Participant: Kerstin Smith, Ops Manager at London Energy

Top Challenge: Challenges Integrating SAP with Existing Digital Systems

We have issues fitting SAP with our other digital systems and having them work well together with current systems.

Participant: Per Carlsson, Asset Manager at Sierra Renewables

Top Challenge: Managing Custom Component Data and Numbering Issues

How can we access the component master data to digitalise our supply chain fully? Siemens are scrambling their numbers on a monthly basis and it creates huge difficulties. We have built or own numbering system and have also an internal taxonomy system. Anyone else with experience of building internal numbers, how to maintain this and integrate it into the entire supply chain?

Key findings for this roundtable session

When five minutes remain in this session, we will ask you in a loud and clear voice to share the main insights you gained from participating in this roundtable. Although you have had good discussions around the table and created an excellent atmosphere, we think these minutes are well invested. We will then share them anonymously with other participants. Please write clearly so that even those not involved in the discussion understand the entire text.
